The mayonnaise seemed heavy and maybe like a mayo substitute. He just took the extra items off and ate it. By the time the server returned she said she'd trade it in for him. My husband ordered what he thought was a simple burger but one came with cheese, egg, fries and more on it. There's plenty of seating, indoors and out. Prices are low, portions large, and they have tater tots on the menu. There were many families with young children. We selected this restaurant for dinner because it was close to the bicycle shop and has a good beer selection. Some very high end, and others more "divish." In order to survive, GJ needs to step up its game in regards to it customer service, and to some extent the quality of its food. The College Park area has a pretty diverse selections on places to dine.
One of the bartends did however walk around the bar offering us some chocolate chip cookies which were a part of their "private party." Although this wasnt totally annoying, as it allowed my friend and I some time to converse, it did annoy me when the three bartenders gathered behind the bar for a crakers, chees and fruit "party." The attention appeared to be all about them, and not the customers. I did notice a few take out orders going out though. Although the restaurant was not busy, Im guessing 20 people at most, the service was excruciatingly slow. The worst part of the night was the service, or should I say lack of. I was hoping that with blackened mahi and chipotle it would have somewhat of a bite to it, but it did not. I couldn't really tell in the fish in it was indeed blackened mahi, as it included avocado and a chipotle ranch dressing. The wings were of a decent size, and the wrap had a decent amount of fish in it. They both were plentiful, well cooked, perhaps a bit overdone, but somewhat cold. The food itself was pretty good, with the exception of both of our fries. I went with their hand cut fries, and my friend got a side order of zucchini fries. I then decided on ordering the Southwest Mahi Wrap, without the tomatoes. When I told her I wanted the Philly, she said they were out of that, so I told her to take my friends order first. Once again we had to wave her down to place our orders. Once we decided, we both closed our menus, to me which is a sign to a bartender that you have made up your mind. I decided upon the Philly Cheesesteak, and my friend the wings. We had to wave her down to get her attention, as she seemed more interested in using her phone. After we ordered, she became less attentive though, not even asking if we would like to see a menu. We sat at the bar, and the bartender promptly came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. I agreed though, as I knew their menu was not just burgers, and they had a decent selection of beers. Unfortunately as I thought I was having Asian for dinner, I had a burger for lunch. I have eaten at one of their other locations before, and loved their burgers. Our original plan was to have dinner at an Asian restaurant, however the wait to be seated seemed excessive, and it was close. Having to work both New Years Eve and New Years day my plan was to celebrate a day earlier with some friends.
